MIchiDepartment: Engagement

Hourly Rate: $25.00/hour

Positions Supervised: None

WHO WE ARE:

Red Wine & Blue is a national community of diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time (best explained by this Washington Post profile, ‘Blue’ suburban moms are mobilizing to counter conservatives and this NYT episode of “The Daily,” Why Suburban Women Changed Their Minds). We are looking for a seasonal, part-time Digital Organizer to spearhead outreach on social media and within online communities in our target states.

WHO YOU ARE: You are a social media whiz with a passion for making connections and driving engagement. You are enthusiastic and ready to lead outreach efforts in online communities, getting folks energized and excited and expanding our reach to boost organic growth. You love social media and are up-to-date on local news and you can effortlessly have conversations that build connections and draw people in.

This role does not supervise any team member(s), reports to the Head of Engagement and is a part-time seasonal position for candidates located in Virginia. This is a temporary position based out of a home office with a focus on executing initiatives during the 2024 election season. Commitment is up to 20 hours per week. This temporary assignment is expected to end on November 15, 2024.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Act as the SoSha (previously SpeechifAI) superuser for your state team - writing copy for social media posts, creating and maintaining SoSha campaigns and coordinating graphics and video needs with the Comms & Media team.
  • Build relationships with prospective members in a variety of online spaces, including groups focused on state and local news and politics, parent groups, and issue-focused groups.
  • Actively promote RWB events and training opportunities across social platforms and in other - non-RWB communities.
  • Conducting one-on-one digital outreach to connect with, get people excited about and invite them to Red Wine & Blue events.
  • Attend state team meetings to ensure communication and collaboration around priorities and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’VE GOT:

  • Experience: You know how to work a virtual room. You have experience engaging others in conversations around the issues and you know how to draw them in. Ideal candidates would have prior experience with SoSha//Speechifai and EveryAction. Broad experience with popular social media platforms and online communities is a must.
  • Inclusive - You can work effectively with people regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, political background or job type.
  • Flexible - You are comfortable navigating sometimes ambiguous work with competing priorities. You are nimble and can effectively shift focus when the need arises. You know how to shift the conversation to get support rather than polarize.
  • Organized & Productive - You have the ability to radically prioritize tasks and plan your days to meet goals.
  • Growth Mindset - You have the ability to fail fast and win fast because you know that we learn as much from failure as we do success. You are not afraid to take risks, think outside the box and give or receive feedback.
  • Playfully Passionate: Your ability to get sh*t done is accompanied by your love for fun. You understand that we can do serious work without taking ourselves too seriously.

The rate for this position is $25.00/hour for up to 20 hours per week. We strongly encourage women, people of color, people with disabilities, non-binary candidates, and LGBTQIA candidates to apply.
