Amount of Travel Required: up to 50%
Location: Remote - Field

WHO WE ARE:
Red Wine & Blue is a national community of diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time (best explained by this Washington Post profile, ‘Blue’ suburban moms are mobilizing to counter conservatives and this NYT episode of “The Daily,” Why Suburban Women Changed Their Minds). We are seeking a Regional Organizer to help us engage women, expand our networks and encourage organizing in suburban communities within Philadelphia, PA.
WHO YOU ARE: You are a multi-tasking whiz with strong interpersonal, communication and data skills who has a vast network in our targeted counties and beyond. You live for the thrill of bringing women together to make change. You are able to confidently speak in front of both small and large groups and have the ability to work some nights and weekends as needed for events in your community.
This role does not directly supervise any team members, reports to the Deputy Program Director, and is a full-time position based out of your home office in Philadelphia suburbs. Frequent travel for in-person events within the region/state is required. Occasional travel is required for organization-wide meetings and all-team retreats.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Community Engagement and Relationship Building
- Serve as RWB’s on-the-ground presence by growing our supporter base through statewide events and org-wide campaigns, programs and initiatives.
- Spread the word about RWB in targeted suburban communities through direct contact, social media and local events.
- Engage directly with community members, volunteers, and voters to maintain strong relationships and keep supporters updated on RWB initiatives; requires the ability to spend time making calls and speaking confidently in-person at both small and large events.
- Research organizations and build coalitions with key groups in your area to expand RWB’s reach for the next election cycle.
- Stay informed and knowledgeable of local and statewide political issues, legislation and monitor local races and potential candidates for office, keeping state leaders up-to-date on happenings in your region.
- Event Planning and Participation
- Organize and participate in both in-person and virtual events to foster community, increase engagement, and drive awareness of RWB’s mission.
- Train local women on organizing techniques and give them the confidence to become politically active and engaged.
- Local Research and Coalition Building
- Research key organizations and political groups in your area, building coalitions to expand RWB’s reach.
- Stay informed on local and statewide issues, legislation, and upcoming races, and keep state team leaders updated on relevant developments in your region.
- Content and Media Support
- Participate and appear on camera and in digital content for RWB’s online channels, including videos, virtual events, and social media posts. This role requires a willingness to maintain an active and public online presence.
- Manage state social media pages and support media opportunities through interviews and public outreach.
- Support earned media opportunities by participating in interviews with media outlets.
- Team Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with the organizing team for national and statewide events, maintain regular communication with the State and Deputy Program Directors, and seek support when needed.
- General and Administrative
- Support the RWB organizing team with national and statewide events and attend internal state- and all-team meetings.
- Develop a weekly schedule that prioritizes time for community engagement as well as event planning, while ensuring timely completion of administrative responsibilities, such as updating EveryAction and completing data entry.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’VE GOT:
- Relationship Builder: Your friends (and their friends) turn to you to find out what’s happening at a local school board or in the community. You have a knack for inspiring other women to get involved by making it social and fun. Building a strong, engaged community of women around a common goal excites you, and you’re always looking for ways to keep that community empowered and connected.
- Connected: You understand the power of personal relationships and want to encourage others to find their voice and understand their ability to influence their networks.
- Socially Savvy: You like talking to individuals one-on-one as well as talking to groups – you are a people person. You enjoy communicating on social media and love using communication and digital tools.
- Technologically Savvy: You are excited to learn and use new technology for data and communication. Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is preferred. Previous experience with EveryAction CRM is highly preferred. You have a willingness to learn new systems and utilize technology to support working smarter, not harder.
- Inclusive: You work effectively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives. You know how to connect with women who may not consider themselves “political” or who may hold different views, finding common ground through shared values. You believe in building relationships based on trust, meeting people where they are, and helping them move forward toward shared goals.
- Flexible: You are comfortable navigating sometimes ambiguous work with competing priorities. You are nimble and can effectively shift focus when the need arises. You are able to work evening and weekend hours as needed for community events.
- Organized & Productive: You have the ability to radically prioritize tasks and plan your days to meet goals. You thrive at managing projects remotely.
- Growth Mindset: You have the ability to fail fast and win fast because you know that we learn as much from failure as we do success. You are not afraid to take risks, think outside the box and give or receive feedback. You are willing to put yourself out there whether it is speaking in public, creating videos or talking to reporters.
- Playfully Passionate: Your ability to get sh*t done is accompanied by your love for fun. You understand that we can do serious work without taking ourselves too seriously.
WHAT WE OFFER:
The salary for this position is $50,000 and commensurate with related experience. We take pay equity seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are paid fairly regardless of their gender, race, or other demographic backgrounds. In addition to a competitive salary, we cover 75% of employee medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums and offer an employer 401(k) match, with eligibility starting after 90 days of employment. We are a mom-led, family-friendly organization that also covers a generous portion of dependent premiums and allows for a flexible work schedule. We provide paid vacation and sick time off and a generous holiday schedule including a one-week Thanksgiving and winter break. We strongly encourage women, people of color, people with disabilities, non-binary candidates, and LGBTQIA candidates to apply.
All Red Wine & Blue staff members work remotely, running virtual operations nationally and on the ground in five states. Candidates for this position must live within the Philadelphia suburbs.
APPLICATION: Interested candidates should submit their application here to apply. You’ll be asked to include a resume and cover letter describing specifically why you want to work at Red Wine & Blue (we’re unique – we want to know why you think you’d love it here. Have fun with it!)
Applications received by November 22 will be given preferential consideration. The anticipated start date for this position is January 13, 2025. If you have questions regarding the posted position, please email [email protected].
