Department: Organizing
Job Status: Regular - Full-time

Reports to: State Program Director
Amount of Travel Required: Frequent - In State
Location: Remote - Field
Positions Supervised: None
WHO WE ARE:
Red Wine & Blue is a national community of over 600,000 diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time (The Washington Post got it right with this profile: ‘Blue’ suburban moms are mobilizing to counter conservatives). We are looking for a Deputy Program Director to collaborate with the State Program Director to develop and drive the program strategy across the state —mobilizing, engaging, and expanding women’s civic and political participation.
WHO YOU ARE: You’re a dynamic leader who thrives on bringing people together, inspiring action, and making an impact. You know how to rally a team, build relationships, and turn big ideas into meaningful, on-the-ground change. Whether you’re coaching organizers, planning strategic campaigns, or mobilizing volunteers, you do it with purpose, energy, and a whole lot of heart. You love the challenge of engaging suburban women—many of whom don’t think of themselves as “political”—and showing them the power they have to shape their communities. Adaptable, organized, and a natural problem-solver, you’re just as comfortable digging into data as you are firing up a crowd at an event. You believe in getting things done, but you also know how to have fun while doing it. If you’re passionate about defeating extremism, building community, and making democracy work for everyone, this role is for you!
This role directly supervises four full-time Regional Organizers, reports to the state Program Director and is a full-time position based out of your home office in Ohio. Frequent in-state travel may be required to attend meetings and events and occasional out-of-state travel is required for in-person meetings and all-staff gatherings.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead and Coach Organizing Teams – Manage and mentor Regional Organizers, providing guidance, support, and accountability to help them develop strategies, events, and systems that align with team and organizational goals.
- Develop Statewide Program Strategy – Work closely with the State Program Director to design and implement an effective state organizing strategy, identifying key local issues and campaigns where RWB should engage.
- Build and Strengthen Partnerships – Assist the State Director in cultivating and maintaining relationships with coalitions, community organizations, leaders, funders, and government agencies to enhance collaboration and amplify RWB’s impact.
- Drive Community Engagement – Support the development and execution of community engagement campaigns, events, and training that mobilize supporters and strengthen grassroots efforts.
- Expand and Sustain Organizing Networks – Identify and engage grassroots organizations and leaders across the state, conducting outreach to grow program enthusiasm, build partnerships, and maintain comprehensive records and communications.
- Manage Digital Tools and Data Systems – Oversee the use of CRM, project management software, and other digital tools to track program data, maintain detailed records, and facilitate clear communication across teams.
- Support Volunteer-Led Groups – Handle onboarding and ongoing communication with TroubleNation groups within the state, ensuring alignment with RWB’s goals and providing necessary support.
- Collaborate Across Departments – Work with the State Director and internal teams (Data, Engagement, etc.) to identify outreach and engagement strategies that strengthen organizing efforts.
- Engage and Mobilize Supporters – Track RWB member engagement, lead outreach efforts, and manage communications to supporters across the state to keep them informed and active.
- Oversee GOTV Efforts – Manage and coordinate seasonal election organizing efforts, including supervising Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Organizers and ensuring effective voter mobilization strategies.
- Foster a Strong Team Culture – Create an inclusive, motivating team environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and accountability.
- Champion Diversity & Inclusion – Ensure RWB’s organizing work reflects a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, both within the team and in community engagement efforts.
- Manage Budget & Resources – Assist the State Director in effectively managing budgetary resources by approving and tracking team expenses.
- Other duties as assigned
