WHO WE ARE:
Red Wine & Blue is a national community of over 600,000 diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time (The Washington Post got it right with this profile: ‘Blue’ suburban moms are mobilizing to counter conservatives). We are seeking a full-time Graphic Designer to help us digitally engage and educate our network of 600,000 members, spotlighting the work of women organizing against extremism in an effort to reach more women.
WHO YOU ARE: You are a creative, self-starting graphic designer who’s excited about bringing our brand to life across platforms. You’re passionate about using design to bring women together and driving change. You thrive in cross-team environments and enjoy creating content that informs, and inspires and activates. You have a love for all things design, from social media graphics and digital designs to collateral and merch to storytelling graphics that lift up the stories and the voices of women in communities across the country.
This role does not directly supervise any team member(s), and reports to the Media Director. It is a full-time position that can be performed from anywhere in one of 14 current operating states (CA, CO, DC, GA, IL, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA). You must currently live in one of these states. Occasional travel is required for in-person meetings and all-staff gatherings.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Design high-impact, visually engaging digital graphics for Red Wine & Blue social media platforms, email and print, and digital media that drive engagement, reflect our brand voice and connect with our community.
- Own the Red Wine & Blue brand and ensure consistency and appeal across all materials and platforms.
- Design and maintain branded templates (e.g. social media graphics, slide decks, flyers, one-pagers, logos, etc.) that empower non-designers to produce content with confidence and that is consistent with brand guidelines.
- Provide strong, thoughtful collaboration and design guidance to state organizing teams that support creative visions while maintaining a consistency with brand guidelines.
- Generate creative and visual content ideas, especially tied to rapid response, that are bold, on brand and resonate with our target audience.
- Make strategic design recommendations that highlight and lift up stories of women on the ground and clearly explain the issues that directly impact and activate our target audience.
- Manage multiple, simultaneous projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Support additional projects and duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’VE GOT:
- Experience: You have 3+ years of experience in graphic design or a related field, with strong proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Experience is Canva is highly preferred as most of our designs occur in Canva.
- Attention to Detail: You have an eagle eye for detail. You care deeply about quality, accuracy and keeping all content visually consistent with our brand.
- Inclusive: You can work effectively with people regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, political background or job type.
- Flexible: You are comfortable navigating sometimes ambiguous work with competing priorities. You are nimble and can effectively shift focus when the need arises.
- Organized & Productive - You have the ability to radically prioritize tasks and plan your day. You are a master of time management. You have experience using tools like Monday.com to plan your work and keep things moving and organized. You can plug into existing systems and workflows to track your work, and step seamlessly into existing brand guidelines.
- Growth Mindset - You have the ability to fail fast and win fast because you know that we learn as much from failure as we do success. You are not afraid to take risks, think outside the box and give or receive feedback.
- Collaborative: You lead our design work, but love building templates and systems and empowering non-designers to contribute new ideas confidently. You provide the tools for innovative thought and the guardrails to stay brand consistent.
- Playfully Passionate: Your ability to get sh*t done is accompanied by your love for fun. You understand that we can do serious work without taking ourselves too seriously.
