Hiring Manager Job Title: Pennsylvania Deputy State Director

Employment Status: Full-Time (40 Hours/week), Exempt, Regular

Primary Location: Pennsylvania. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to one of the following city: Pittsburgh.

Salary: The LCO position has a monthly salary of $4,000. This salary is non-negotiable to maintain internal pay equity.

Position Summary:

The Lead Campus Organizer (LCO) will be primarily responsible for the recruitment and management of Field Organizers and Volunteers, campus community engagement, and Rise event planning. Candidates should be able to offer ingenuity, creativity, nimbleness, and enthusiasm, with the desire to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, growing organizing program.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following core competencies: committed problem-solving, deep thinking, and fearless creation, inquisitive learning, thoughtful communication, mindful collaboration, personal accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to actively prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead organizing and outreach efforts on campus including but not limited to tabling, canvassing, textbanking, attending/hosting events.
  • Create weekly plans in collaboration with the Deputy State Director.
  • Recruit and activate student Volunteers and student storytellers on campus.
  • Recruit and manage a team of Field Organizers and Volunteers; including providing frequent feedback, lead weekly check-ins and routine coaching.
  • Develop partnerships with campus organizations including actively participating in other organizations’ events.
  • Attend weekly mandatory meetings (i.e. State Meeting, Weekly Check In with Deputy State Director, etc.) and trainings.
  • Incorporate creative ideas into your organizing work including mandatory social media content creation and engagement to uplift Rise’s work on the ground.
  • Actively participate in and create content for all Rise social media platforms.
  • Achieve metrics set by national and state leadership.
