Hours: Full-time 40hrs/week, open to part-time 20hrs/week if you aren’t able to work full-time

Compensation: $57,500-$66,012 plus special city allowance if you live in a city eligible for an allowance. More info about the special city allowance can be found here.

One Sentence Purpose: The Field Organizer is responsible for helping build and train Sunrise’s base of volunteers to strengthen the movement for the long haul, as well as helping run and win federal elections by supporting volunteers to run strong voter contact efforts and build a multiracial cross class movement.
They primarily do this by supporting and training Sunrise Members, running phonebanks, textbanks, canvasses, actions, utilizing social media content, and directing volunteers to engage in electoral work. A core part of this role includes building and maintaining a remote volunteer team that will help people around the country plug into key federal elections in 2026.
Responsibilities
Be a part of the National Electoral Team to execute our election work for federal endorsements - [30%]
Collaborate with the Political Director, Field Director, and hub/chapter leaders to develop and implement our electoral strategy. Coordinate with hub/chapter leaders on endorsement strategy and decisions.
Help set voter contact goals and track metrics
Work with the digital and comms team to recruit new volunteers to attend our distributed voter contact events
Ensure that our voter contact work is compliant and effective
Distributed electoral program - [50%]
Recruit and develop a strong team of volunteers to execute phonebanks, textbanks, and social media content creation.
Lead regular team meetings, develop this group’s leadership, and provide 1:1 mentorship. Focus particularly on developing and investing in young Black, Latine, working class, and poor people.
Set goals and detailed plans for phone and text banking. Make adjustments in distributed strategy based outcomes and progress.
Ad hoc campaign work - [20%]
Collaborate with other campaign staff and hub/chapter leaders to train members and leaders around electoral skills
Support on-the-ground field work to elect federal candidates and help hubs/chapters grow their membership through electoral work
Qualifications
Must Haves
Have volunteered or worked in at least 2 election cycles with experience doing distributed voter engagement
Commitment to and excitement about running new and exciting voter contact tactics that ignite young people and bring in new volunteers to the movement
Be creative and committed to electoral organizing with a desire to inspire and excite others to volunteer
Experience using voter contact distributed tools/platforms (text and phone bank tools, VAN, Mobilize)
Experience building and/or leading a multiracial and cross-class team of 10+ staff or volunteers
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects, teams, etc at the same time
Commitment to the vision of the Green New Deal and electing socialist candidates
Commitment to growth and learning
Nice To Haves
Experience in a leadership role in a Sunrise Movement hub
Experience facilitating highly-interactive online spaces
Experience with and ability to use multiple digital/distributed organizing tools and platforms (Every Action, AirTable, New/Mode, etc)
Experience using social media to promote and recruit to electoral campaigns
