The Texas Freedom Network (TFN) seeks a full-time temporary South Texas Field Lead Organizer based in the Rio Grande Valley or Corpus Christi. TFN is a statewide non-partisan, grassroots organization that is building an informed and effective movement working toward equality and social justice.
The South Texas Field Lead Organizer will oversee a relational organizing, Field leadership development program in the Rio Grande Valley and Corpus Christi. The purpose of the program is to expand a base of leaders within the progressive infrastructure of Texas. The primary responsibilities of the Organizer will be to recruit and develop a group of Field Leaders across the region. The Field Leaders in turn will move base members, volunteers, super volunteers and leaders up a ladder of engagement.
The South Texas Field Lead Organizer should be passionate about connecting with people, leadership development, and creative engagement tactics. The South Texas Field Lead Organizer will report to the Texas Rising Electoral Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Recruiting, training, growing, engaging, and developing base members, volunteers, super volunteers, leaders, and Field Leaders up a ladder of engagement

Responsible for launching field events and meeting 1:1 with Field Leaders and base members

Supporting and developing a minimum of 30-active Field Leaders

Conducting multiple weekly 1:1s to deepen relationships and move people into action

Turning out Field members and leaders to actions, events, and mobilizations

Collecting and reporting electronic metrics on Organizer and Field Leader activity

Submitting brief weekly narrative reflections (wins, challenges, lessons learned)

Flagging immediate needs or red flags early

Participating in every other week Field Lead cohort spaces and periodic deep dives to share learning and troubleshoot challenges
Qualifications and Skills

Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Rio Grande Valley or Corpus Christi

Applicants must be well organized, resourceful,persistent, and able to hold Field Leaders and themselves accountable to performance metrics

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrate a commitment to the values, mission and goals of Texas Freedom Network and Texas Rising

Must be highly motivated self-starters who are able to work independently and in a team environment

Ideal candidates will be able to bring young people of color together and motivate them to get involved in the political process.

Have an entrepreneurial spirit and the capacity to build and implement a plan for the Field Lead program is preferred

Fluency in another language is preferred.

Experience in volunteer management is preferred
Benefits
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 (depending on experience)
100% employer paid medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer contribution, paid vacation, personal, sick, and parental leave.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
This is a grant funded position funded through the end of 2026. Continuation will be dependent on future funding.
