The Parkside Group, New York’s leading full-service public affairs firm, is seeking a temporary Data Analyst. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an award-winning team and to advance candidates’ needs in our action-packed political campaign practice through the fall election.

The position will report to the Data & Research Director on the Public Affairs Team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supports the Data & Research Director with various projects throughout the 2024 campaign season including polling operations, mailing list management, and voter targeting.
  • Manages organization of all data department materials, continuous recordkeeping of trackers, and helps ensure the team keeps to established deadlines.
  • Thorough proofing support of all polling materials, including final instruments, link testing, language matching, presentations, code, and more.
  • Additional projects, such as research briefs, VAN lookups, outreach list compilation for rapid messaging campaigns, and more as needed by the team.

Core Competencies

  • The ideal candidate is proficient using Excel and Google Sheets, analyzing data, and extracting information. Must pass an Excel test administered by the department.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of the programming language R and willingness to learn more throughout the onboarding process.

Education and Experience

  • Candidates who are still completing their undergraduate or technical degree will be happily considered.
  • The ideal candidate will be available 20 - 25 hours per week from early July 2024 through mid-November, 2024.
  • As the campaign season progresses, hours may vary and are to be determined.
  • Experience with VoteBuilder / NGP VAN is preferred.
  • Candidates that share our passion for Democratic politics is a plus!

  • Anticipated pay is $20 - $25 per hour. This is a temporary employment position.
  • Provides sick time in accordance with New York State law.
  • A team committed to your professional development and skills growth.
  • A hybrid (home and office) policy, but the candidate must be local to New York City and available to come into the office during onboarding 3-4 days a week and then at least 2-3 days a week through the election.
  • Snacks and beverages to keep you fueled and hydrated on busy days.
