What Will You Do?

Regional Organizing Directors will work in close coordination with the Organizing Director to manage organizers located on key campuses across Wisconsin. RODs are expected to be located in their region, preferably close to one of the campuses they are managing.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruit, train, empower, and manage a team of organizers in your region to reach ambitious weekly volunteer recruitment and voter contact goals, with a focus on in-person volunteer engagement.
  • Take the initiative to build and lead coalitions of student leaders and student organizations on campuses in your region to build trust and opportunities for regular coordination.
  • Manage fun and engaging events to educate students about the upcoming election and empower them to organize their peers
  • Develop creative strategies and systems that will be most effective at your campuses to reach students and to motivate your team to successfully engage voters and hit their organizing metrics.
  • Implement clear data and reporting procedures, adhere to established data standards, and ensure data integrity.
  • Communicate clearly up and down the chain of command, including by rolling out campaign priorities, sharing key field learnings, and assisting in the development of statewide adaptations, where appropriate.
  • Motivate and mentor entry-level staff to flourish in a fast-paced and rigorous campaign environment by facilitating daily check-in/out calls, 1:1 meetings, weekly trainings, and regular team meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Who Are You?

As a successful candidate for this job, you will:

  • Have at least one cycle of campaign experience and experience in a management role, experience in campus organizing is a plus
  • Have a passion for progressive politics and inspiring young people to get involved
  • Be excited to think outside the box and to ideate and innovate to find the most exciting and effective GOTV tactics
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to communicate priorities in both 1:1 and group settings; especially as applied to building a strong, inclusive management culture that is solutions-oriented and positive for all staff members.
  • Experience with VAN
  • Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders across our organization and partner organizations
  • Be scrappy and flexible; able to manage several tasks simultaneously and work long irregular hours; including weekends
  • Be a self-starter, exceptionally well-organized, and have strong time management skills
  • Be able to work weekends and irregular hours as required
  • Be located near or be willing to relocate to one of our focus campuses

Job Details: The salary for this position starts at $6,000/month and includes health benefits. This is a full time role and we are hiring on a rolling basis.
