We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join Vocal Media’s team!
As Director of Social Media, you'll lead strategy development and execution across client portfolios, specializing in TikTok, Instagram, and short-form video. You'll manage and mentor a team of social media managers, overseeing resource allocation, training, and performance metrics. The role involves implementing AI tools to optimize workflows, managing budgets and profitability, and establishing efficient processes for campaign execution. You'll collaborate across departments to ensure integrated service delivery and handle crisis management when needed. Success requires balancing creative innovation with operational excellence while maintaining strong client relationships.

About Vocal Media

Vocal Media is a young and fast-growing social impact influencer marketing agency. We build and activate powerful influencer networks across the top social platforms: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and Discord. The creators we work with lead daily conversations with large audiences across social media. They post frequently on issues like racial justice, climate change, and economic inequality, but they also create engaging cultural content, engaging and educating their audiences on popular topics like health and wellness, beauty, fashion, sports, media, history, and everything in between. They work across every social media channel, particularly: Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Discord.
The Vocal Media team brings together talent from music promotion, tech, digital marketing, influencer marketing, and political organizing to support progressive campaigns. We work with multiple creator consultants, who split their time between campaign consulting and creating pop-culture and political content on social media platforms.
Across the board, our team members believe deeply in helping organizations effectively leverage influencer partnerships that maximize the impact of digital campaigns, expand reach into new communities, and bridge the gap between pop culture and social good.

Responsibilities

Drive innovative social media approaches across client portfolios, with particular emphasis on TikTok, Instagram and short-form video.
Oversee the development of platform-specific strategies that align with each client's unique objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of social media managers, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and client service excellence.
Serve as the client lead, managing client relationships across the social media team and execution of all work across client accounts.
Oversee resource allocation and team assignments across client accounts.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities in platform expertise, client management, and strategic thinking.
Set clear performance metrics and goals for team members while providing regular feedback and growth opportunities.
Utilize AI tools such as Claude, Opus, Descript, Eleven Labs, and Runway to speed up workflow.
Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and profitability across client accounts.
Establish efficient workflows and processes for campaign execution and reporting.
Collaborate with other agency departments to ensure integrated client service delivery.
Lead crisis management and reputation management efforts for clients as needed.

Qualifications

6+ years of social media experience in agency or brand settings, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Experience running social media accounts in-house or on behalf of clients.
Proven track record of managing large teams and multiple client relationships
Demonstrated expertise in TikTok content strategy and short-form video creation
Experience leading social impact campaigns and purpose-driven initiatives
Strong portfolio of successful social media campaigns across diverse client industries
Excellence in client relationship management and presentation skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with social impact organizations or mission-driven brands

Benefits

Projected salary band: $110,000 - $130,000 annually
