<h4><strong>Vot-ER and Latino Medical Student Association:</strong><strong><br></strong><strong> Partnerships &amp; Civic Health Intern</strong></h4> <p><strong>Organization:</strong> Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA)<br><strong>Reporting to:</strong> Deputy Director of Partnerships<br><strong>Location:</strong> Remote<br><strong>Duration:</strong> 2026 SUMMER &amp; FALL<br><strong>Compensation:</strong> Academic Credit (Required)<br><strong>Expected Hours:</strong>&nbsp;15 to 20 hours per week</p> <p><strong>Role Overview<br></strong>The Partnerships &amp; Civic Health Intern will serve as a critical link between the Latino Medical Student Association and Vot-ER, supporting Vot-ER as we continue to grow and deepen relationships with health institutions across the country.<br>This role is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented student leader who is passionate about the intersection of health and democracy. <br>You will be responsible for deepening current organizational ties, onboarding new partners, and spearheading a specialized initiative focused on the Emergency Patient Voting (EPV) Program.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities<br></strong><strong>Partnership Growth &amp; Deep Engagement<br></strong><strong>Relationship Management:</strong> Support the <strong>Deputy Director of Partnerships</strong> in maintaining high-touch communication with existing partners to increase engagement.<br><strong>Expansion:</strong> Actively identify and "bring into the fold" new health-related organizations to expand our national footprint beyond current partners.<br><strong>Civic Holiday Orchestration:</strong> Prepare and execute mobilization strategies and communications assets for Civic Holidays (e.g., National Voter Registration Day, National Voter Education Week, Vote Early Day).<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Emergency Patient Voting (EPV) Program <br></strong><strong>Student Mobilization:</strong> Organize and train health professional students to facilitate voting access for patients who face unexpected hospitalization during election cycles.<br><strong>Resource Development:</strong> Create patient-facing educational materials and bedside toolkits to streamline the emergency ballot request process.</p> <p><strong>Eligibility &amp; Requirements<br></strong><strong>LMSA Membership:</strong> Must be an active member of the Latino Medical Student Association.<br><strong>Academic Credit Requirement.</strong> Candidates must provide documentation from their institution confirming they will receive course credit for this internship.<br><strong>Communication:</strong> Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex advocacy goals to diverse health professionals.<br><strong>Remote Proficiency:</strong> Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple workstreams via digital tools (Slack, Zoom, CRM).<br>Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.<br>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to gain trust and give respect to others through honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, and authenticity.<br>Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines for multiple projects.<br>Drive to seek what can be improved and offer ways to fix any potential roadblocks.<br>Comfort admitting what you don’t know and recognizing that feedback is part of the learning process.</p>
