Job Title: Graphic Designer

Job Type: Contract (20-30 hours per week)
Term: Immediately - October 10, 2025 (with possibility of extension)
Compensation: $3,000 - $4,000 per month (commensurate with experience)

About the Role We are seeking a culturally aware and creatively driven Graphic Designer to join our team on a contract basis. This position is central to building out WHM’s visual identity across digital platforms, shows, and civic campaigns. The ideal candidate will deliver platform-native visuals with impact, cohesion, and originality—while collaborating with producers, editors, and content leads to maintain brand alignment. Key Responsibilities
Social Design Assets
- Design Instagram carousels, quote cards, infographic reels, and thumbnails.
- Design supporting visual assets for YouTube, TikTok, X, and campaign rollouts.
- Deliver story-consistent visuals across shows and campaigns.
Motion Design (Bonus)
- Animate lower thirds, intros, bumpers, and text overlays for videos.
- Create short loopable animations or explainers (2D) for reels and TikToks
Show Branding Support
- Collaborate with content leads to evolve visual identities per show.
- Maintain consistency across formats while differentiating show aesthetics.
Campaign + Toolkit Design
- Support one-pagers, pitch decks, campaign graphics, and partner materials.
- Ensure brand and voice cohesion across WHM, shows, and sub-brands.
Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
- Familiarity with Canva (for fast team edits and template creation).
- Experience designing for social-first platforms (IG, TikTok, YouTube, X).
- Knowledge of design principles for mobile-first video and vertical content.
- Strong visual storytelling instincts and understanding of cultural nuance.
- Organized file management, responsive to feedback, and able to hit deadlines.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with branding and visual identity systems.
- Illustration or collage-based aesthetic range.
- Knowledge of motion design or animated explainers.
- Experience working in a newsroom, agency, or creator ecosystem.
- Passion for social justice, political storytelling, or movement work.
