Term: Immediately - October 31, 2025(with the possibility of extension)
Compensation: $5,000 - $8,000 per month (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview We are seeking a Digital Editor who lives and breathes short-form video content and thrives in fast-paced environments. This role requires a keen eye for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, with a knack for remixing moments into viral content while maintaining the integrity of our mission. As the Digital Editor, you will serve as the post-production lead for all social-first video content, overseeing a high-volume editing pipeline and ensuring everything meets WHM’s cultural, creative, and technical standards. You’ll work closely with the editorial and digital teams to execute a culture-forward content strategy, manage support editors, and create high-impact videos that drive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Cutdowns and Platform Adaptations
- Provide both captioned and non-captioned versions in 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 as needed
- Create alternate versions for A/B testing or optimization when requested
Episodic Content Support
- Edit full-length or mid-length web series episodes across WHM’s slate
- Assist with subtitling, rough cuts, and finishing work
- Cut version content for different platforms (e.g., YouTube vs. podcast-ready vs. Instagram TV-style)
Campaigns & Trend Responsiveness
- Provide quick turnaround edits for promotional pushes, creator challenges, and cultural moments.
- Cut trend-aligned clips from flagship shows within 24-48 hours.
- Provide Same-day turnaround for select trend content (with advanced notice).
Team Collaboration & Workflow
- Attend 1 weekly content planning sync with WHM’s digital team.
- Submit drafts and incorporate up to 2 rounds of feedback per social package.
- Coordinate with social managers for specs, slating, and delivery timing.
- Use WHM-approved templates and visual assets to ensure consistency.
File Organization & Delivery
- Deliver final exports using WHM's approved naming conventions.
- Maintain all exports and project files in shared cloud folders.
- Tag files with appropriate metadata for ease of retrieval.
Optional Participation (If Available)
- Join 1 Creator Cohort sync or IRL WHM content activation per season.
- Assist with live cutdowns, event promos, or post-event reels.
- Support quick same-day turnarounds for high-urgency posts on breaking cultural moments (e.g., virality, election day).
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven editing experience, especially in social-first, vertical video content.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and publishing tools (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X).
- Knowledge of creative tools such as Canva, CapCut, Descript, and Adobe Premiere.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced digital media environment.
- A passion for social impact and a deep understanding of BIPOC cultures and communities.
- Strong communication skills, both within teams and with external collaborators.
