About Watering Hole Media (WHM) WHM: Watering Hole Media (WHM) is a social impact media company seeking to open minds, activate change, and win for the people. WHM meets the audience where they are by fostering a safe space for people to come together and have difficult conversations, nourish themselves, and bring new perspectives back into their communities. WHM envisions a world where stories and conversations spark change by compelling people to act to address social injustice and save democracy.

About the Role We are seeking a Digital Audience Producer who will serve as a hands-on digital producer owning its platform presence, creative packaging, and content execution with support from WHM’s broader editorial and strategy team. In this dual-role position, you’ll blend creative production execution with digital publishing expertise to create engaging content that drives community interaction and sparks impactful conversations.

As the Digital Audience Producer, you’ll work closely with our editors, show talent, and digital team to ensure WHM’s content moves quickly and lands powerfully. You’ll take our production from creative concept to shareable, social-native clips that land on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and X. You will have the opportunity to shape the content experience across multiple platforms while driving engagement and ensuring timely rollouts.

Key Responsibilities Production (Field & Studio)

  • Work with show talent and editors to develop recurring format concepts and scalable clip series aligned with platform trends and audience behavior.
  • Oversee the production of WHM series and video content, from pre-production meetings to on-site or remote shoots.
  • Act as the on-set producer, ensuring creative direction is aligned with the vision and success on digital platforms.
  • Set up cameras, lights, microphones, and assist with framing and blocking for social-native vertical content (e.g., BTS footage, Instagram Reels, viral pulls).
  • Log key moments and timecodes during or immediately after production.
  • Ensure all footage and audio is backed up, named, and uploaded to WHM’s shared drive.

Social Publishing & Platform Rollout

  • Post 20–25 clips per week across platforms, including Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, YouTube (midform posts), and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Draft social copy, hashtags, creator tags, and alt text, ensuring alignment with WHM’s tone and audience.
  • Upload and format clips from editors or social cutters, adding metadata and slating.
  • Track the status of clips (live, scheduled, or pending) and maintain WHM’s publishing tracker and content calendar.
  • Flag clips that are performing well or underperforming and suggest re-posts, alternate hooks, or new takes on trending formats.
  • Help shape and maintain the voice, tone, and platform presence of assigned shows, in collaboration with the creative and editorial teams. Guide visual formats and captioning patterns based on audience response.

Growth Strategy Support

  • Distribute clips using SEO-friendly headlines and metadata for social and YouTube to maximize reach.
  • Identify emerging trends, creators, and audio to align WHM content with timely digital moments.
  • Track and report performance using platform analytics dashboards, contributing to growth experiments such as A/B tests and scheduling variations.
  • Draft social media toolkits for show launches and creator collaborations.

Team Collaboration & Workflow

  • Join 1–2 weekly syncs with editorial and digital teams to align on show rollouts, weekly themes, and metrics.
  • Incorporate up to 2 rounds of feedback per social package.
  • Maintain file hygiene and documentation across shared systems (Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io, Emplifi).

Campaigns & Timely Content

  • Provide quick turnaround edits for promotional pushes, creator challenges, and cultural moments.
  • Typical rush campaign edits delivery: 24–48 hours, depending on complexity, with same-day turnaround available on select trend content.
  • Collaborate with the strategist and social managers to align edits with trending news, internet moments, or memes.

Optional Participation

  • Attend in-person content activations or creator events (if available).
  • Assist in ideation for new formats or segments across social, newsletters, and audience growth.
