Writers' Room Overview The Writers' Room for the Movement is a paid fellowship for creators focused on politics, culture, and current affairs. These creators will be empowered with the resources and support to activate their platforms to inform and mobilize their audience.
About the Role We are seeking a Writers’ Room Creator Researcher to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for identifying and curating a talented roster of digital creators whose content resonates with a diverse audience across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and X. The ideal candidate will have a passion for discovering creators, an eye for impactful content, and a strong understanding of the power of digital media to drive social change.
Key Responsibilities Creator Research & Sourcing
- Conduct thorough research across social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X) to identify digital creators producing engaging and impactful content
- Utilize advanced search techniques and platform tools to discover both emerging and established creators whose content aligns with WHM’s values.
- Each week, compile 100 new creator profiles (totaling 400 profiles per month) to be reviewed and invited to join the Writers' Room. These profiles will be based on the creators’ social media handles, content themes, and engagement levels.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date spreadsheet containing creator details, including contact information, follower count, and content focus.
Creator Engagement
- Provide a detailed 'Pod Fit' note for each vetted creator, justifying why they are an ideal match for their designated content pod. This rationale will guide the decision-making process for creator engagement.
- Communicate effectively and clearly with potential creators to invite them to the fellowship, maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm in all interactions.
CRM & Database Management
- Efficiently manage the creator database and tracking systems to ensure that the recruitment process is organized and transparent.
- Use CRM tools and spreadsheets to keep track of creator outreach, communication, and status updates, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Timely Reporting & Analytics
- Provide weekly updates to the team, reporting on the progress of creator sourcing and engagement.
- Track key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the creator outreach strategy and suggest improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with social media platforms, particularly TikTok, Instagram, and X.
- Strong research and sourcing skills, with the ability to discover creators who align with WHM’s mission and goals.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting outreach messages and creating detailed notes on creator profiles.
- Proficiency in CRM, pipeline management, and tracking systems to ensure smooth workflow and data organization.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet weekly deadlines.
- Passion for social justice, progressive values, and empowering marginalized communities.
