About Us

Way to Win was founded in 2017 as a space for donors and organizers alike to come together and create strategies that build progressive power by cultivating both electoral wins and progressive governance to follow. Our work starts at the local level and builds up to national reform. We are led by the movement leaders working in communities closest to the injustice of the current political norms. We aim for bold ideas to create a tangibly better future that works for the most marginalized of people.

Way to Win works in relationships with multiple organizations to accomplish its mission, including PACs.

Way to Win is seeking a values-aligned, full-stack developer with knowledge in WordPress, MySQL, Salesforce, Mailchimp and more, who is committed to racial and economic justice and democratic participation.

While we are currently hiring a contractor to build out a membership portal of our main website, we are seeking a long-term partner that can work effectively with our team. As a long-term partner, we would reach out to you for website updates, maintenance, and more. This role will work closely with the Director of Design and Design Coordinator, and be responsible for developing our creative ideas into seamless, secure, high-performing websites and website integrations—bringing our vision and strategy to life.

As a virtual office with team members spread out from NYC to Hawaiʻi, we require a highly motivated go-getter, able to effectively self-manage and lean into our agile and fast-paced culture. We are looking for a contractor who is able to dedicate their time to complete projects with speed, attention to detail, thoroughness, and collaboration.

Deliverables

Build Out

Creation of 6 pages as a subdomain to main website:

  • Member Login Page: Multiple ways for user to sign-in

  • Dashboard Homepage: Widget page

  • Calendar Page: Filter/sort/search functions, register, attachments, add to calendar

  • Resources Page: Embed documents, filter/sort/search function

  • Library: Filter/sort/search functions, RSS feed for news articles, Mailchimp integration, and potentially social media integration

  • Member Directory: Salesforce integration, filter/sort/search function, interactive maps and graphs based on member data

Security

  • Implement strong user authentication: This needs to be a secure member platform in which users can login via username and password, Gmail, Ymail, Facebook, Instagram, X, etc. Two-Factor authentication included.

  • User Access: Members should only have access to view the site, with the exception of being able to edit their own personal information in the member directory portion.

Integrations

  • Calendar Events: Integrate a calendar system to house upcoming events, sign ups, filters/sorts, pre- and post- call documentation.

  • DocSend: Embed secure documents that live in our Doscsend account, which removes a step for the user to click into another site for the information they are looking for.

  • Mailchimp: Potential integration to bring in previous emails that were sent out.

  • Salesforce CRM: Integrate a plugin to help synchronize member data between the Wordpress site and Salesforce. When a change is made in Salesforce, it should automatically be applied to Wordpress. But, if a change is made in Wordpress it should notify our team to accept the changes, which would be reflected on both platforms.

Maintenance

  • Quarterly maintenance of the website (front/back end systems).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proficient in front- and back-end development, with specific knowledge of WordPress, CMS development, MySQL, PHP, HTML5, JS/JQuery, CSS, Salesforce, and possibly Mailchimp integrations.
  • Ability to think outside the box to utilize various programming techniques to achieve desired results with optimal performance on both desktop and mobile devices.

  • Create a user friendly site (on both the front and back end), one that is easily accessible and maintainable for our team.

  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively. This project will require effective communication and coordination with the Design Team. *Qualified candidates should be able to meet with the Design team over Zoom to review status and receive feedback.
