The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking an Operations and Special Projects Assistant for the 2025-26 cycle. This individual will provide support to DGA’s Operations and External Affairs Departments, while also assisting across the entire organization. This position will require going into the DGA’s office located in Washington, DC on a full-time basis.
The expected salary for this position is $60,000 annually before benefits and applicable withholdings. Applications will continue to be accepted until this position is filled.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Respectfully greet DGA guests and promptly notify appropriate staff of guest arrival;
  • Answer, screen, and facilitate all incoming calls on the office’s main phone line;
  • Receive mail daily and distribute to staff;
  • Assist with regular weekly tasks such as ordering supplies and keeping items in stock;
  • Reserve conference rooms and call lines while coordinating schedules with other staff and departments ;
  • Assist with department scheduling as needed;
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance for compliance responsibilities;
  • Assist Operations team with intern hiring and program facilitation;
  • Assist External Affairs team to support department-specific projects and initiatives;
  • Help with other special projects, assignments, and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to cooperate and effectively communicate with a diverse staff, donors, and allied organizations;
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to work efficiently and autonomously and exercise independent judgement to solve operational problems;
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance;
  • Ability to learn new computer software quickly;
  • Strong commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party.
