The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking a Deputy IT Director for the 2025-26 cycle. TheDeputy IT Director assists the IT Director in managing the organization's technology strategy and operations. This role involves overseeing IT projects, managing staff, ensuring system security, and collaborating with other departments to align technology with business goals. This position will require going into the DGA’s office located in Washington, DC on a regular basis with limited flexibility.
The expected salary for this position is $90,000 annually. Applications will continue to be accepted until this position is filled.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide secondary-level support for end-user hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including device setup and account management.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory and other systems.
  • Install, update, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  • Document technical issues, solutions, and processes in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Monitor and escalate unresolved issues to higher-tier support or vendors as needed.
  • Support basic network troubleshooting (e.g., connectivity, VPN access, wireless issues).
  • Coordinate cybersecurity training sessions, assist with phishing simulations, and help enforce security policies across the organization.
  • Maintain IT inventory and ensure all assets are properly tracked and accounted for.
  • Provide support for video conferencing tools and meeting room technology.
  • Assist with routine system maintenance and updates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role.
  • Strong proficiency of MacOS environments, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Google Workspace, iOS devices, and Windows.
  • Experience with Active Directory, user account administration, and remote support tools.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to support users with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Ability to work efficiently and autonomously and exercise independent judgement to solve operational problems;
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance;
  • Strong commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party.
