The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and researcher, with demonstrated experience in speechwriting or executive communications.
As part of the Evergreen team, you will help craft and lead strategies and campaigns that help make progress on important issues, from climate and clean energy to economic inclusion and responsible technology, and more. This role may also work in support of litigation communications efforts in which clients are fighting to protect critical rights and liberties.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Writing & Content Development: Draft speeches, strategy documents, research and policy memos, op-eds, social posts, and comms plans on a range of policy issues, as well as litigation communications materials on complex legal and regulatory matters. Must be able to write cleanly and quickly, analyze and distill complex topics, and meet deadlines.
  • Strategy Development: Devise or contribute to the development of communications plans, policy proposals and engagement strategies to help clients break through the noise and achieve their goals. Must have a strong grasp of the political, policy, and media landscape and be able to think creatively and communicate clearly.
  • Client Relations & Project Management: Contribute to multiple client teams, cultivating external relationships and coordinating internal workflow. This includes supporting senior team members with day-to-day client work and tracking deliverables from conception to execution. Requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Substantive Depth: Closely follow public policy developments, political news, and industry trends, and master new issue areas quickly.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years experience in communications or public policy roles in the corporate, political, or nonprofit sectors; candidates with experience working at the intersection of communications and policy preferred;
  • Excellent writing and research skills are required, with demonstrated experience working on written products that have been published or shared for external consumption;
  • Strong experience developing relationships with outside partners, reporters, and/or clients;
  • Proven ability to project manage and juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Evergreen offers a base salary of $70,000 - $110,000 for Managers, along with our industry-leading 401(k) matching program, health plan, and PTO policy. Mentorship and professional development will be priorities.

This is a remote-first position. Evergreen is committed to building a diverse team and strongly encourages women, people of color, individuals with disabilities, and veterans to apply.
