Hours: 20 - 25 hours per week for Fall of 2024 and Spring 2025
Location: fully remote; due to state regulations, must be working from one of the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CT, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA, VT
GIFFORDS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives from gun violence. Led by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, GIFFORDS shifts culture, changes policies, and challenges injustice, inspiring Americans across the country to fight gun violence. We are looking for current college undergraduate students with at least one year of college experience to join our team during the fall. The ideal GIFFORDS intern is highly organized, detail-oriented, a strong writer, and passionate about the issue of gun violence prevention.
Interns at GIFFORDS are paid $18.50 per hour. We will work with interns to gain academic credit if applicable. Start date is early August 2024 with a commitment of 20-25 hours per week throughout the fall and spring with an end date of May 2025.
This will work on the team listed below to help support our ongoing efforts in the fight against gun violence.

Duties + responsibilities:
- Monitor hearings at the federal and state levels
- Research state policies and legislation
- Help track and monitor relevant legislation at the state and federal levels
- Research various GVP issues as needed
- Conduct other tasks as assigned; to include in different areas of the Government and Political Affairs team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Junior year or senior year preferred
- Hill or state offices experience is usually preferred, but not required
