GIFFORDS seeks a Program Manager to support projects and initiatives that strengthen the national community violence intervention (CVI) field. This role will help coordinate policy tracking efforts, manage information and data systems, support coalition and partner engagement activities, and contribute to a variety of projects related to public safety and violence prevention. The Program Manager will organize and maintain legislative and programmatic resources, support reporting and communications efforts, coordinate meetings and convenings, and help ensure projects move forward efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with strong project management and trauma-informed communication skills. They should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working with diverse stakeholders, organizing complex information, and supporting both internal and external initiatives in a fast-paced environment that seeks to uplift communities most impacted by gun violence.

About GIFFORDS Center for Violence Intervention

While the national conversation about gun violence often revolves around horrific incidents of mass shootings, one of the largest drivers of this crisis is daily shootings on our city streets that too often fail to make national headlines. This form of gun violence disproportionately impacts communities of color: Black and Hispanic Americans account for more than three-quarters of the nearly 18,000 gun homicide victims each year. For young Black men, homicide is the leading cause of death. This is simply unacceptable--and we know that change is possible.

In 2016, GIFFORDS launched our Center for Violence Intervention with the mission of identifying and lifting up the nation’s most promising solutions to the crisis of daily gun violence. We’ve partnered with the country’s leading practitioners and advocates to inform their work and, together, have advocated for local, state, and federal policymakers to invest more in community-based violence reduction strategies.

This is a full-time position based in the contiguous United States. This position requires the ability and willingness to travel up to 20% - 40% of the time, as well as interest and ability in staffing occasional weekend and evening events. If based within commuting distance of our office in Washington, DC, this position will be expected to work in a hybrid model.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled; we encourage applicants to apply by the priority deadline of July 17, 2026. Due to the high volume of applicants, no phone calls or emails, please.
