Raskin for Congress Senior Fellows will serve as group leaders for their peers and help manage Raskin for Congress Fellows during group work, field work, and other activities throughout the week.

***The Senior Fellow position takes place primarily in person in Maryland’s 8th district and is only open to those who have previously participated in Democracy Summer.***

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing a group of Raskin Fellows
• Training, supervising, advising and serving as a role model for all Raskin Fellows
• Guiding Fellows in the basics of phone banking, text banking, voting systems and
  procedures, donor research, etc.
• Serving as a point of contact for Raskin Fellows and their families
• Helping build community amongst the Fellows by fostering a positive environment
• Additional tasks as assigned

Senior Fellows will participate in the National Democracy Summer School on Mondays in addition to Raskin for Congress Fellow programming. This role requires approximately 20-25 hrs/week, and may include evening and weekend organizing activities. Senior Fellows are often expected to arrive at least an hour before Fellows arrive and after they leave during weekdays. Programming will include a hybrid of virtual and in-person activities.

Democracy Summer and Raskin for Congress activities will take place throughout Maryland's 8th District.

While Democracy Summer 2026 is a seven-week commitment for Fellows, Senior Fellows will be asked to begin 1-2 weeks earlier, around June 15th.

Please note that Democracy Summer is offering a stipend to Senior Fellows for their participation, but academic credit may be available instead depending on your school.
