Raskin for Congress Field Organizer

Timeline:
Our Field Organizer position will require approximately 30 hrs per week from mid-June through mid-August, with the opportunity to begin earlier, depending on schedule.
Applicants must be able to work in-person from the Montgomery County, MD Area from at least June through August.
**This is a paid position.**
We are accepting applications on a rolling basis until March 23rd.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed their Sophomore year of College
- Applicants must have previously participated in Democracy Summer.
- Applicants must be able to commit approximately 30 hours per week.
- Applicants must have a driver's license and regular access to a car.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the CD-08 Manager, the Field Organizer’s responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- Democracy Summer Tasks
- Recruit Fellows from MD-08 and manage the application process from start to finish
- Assist in overseeing the Democracy Summer Raskin Fellow experience, including coordinating fulfilling field activities and speakers
- Train/supervise/advise, support and mentor Raskin Senior Fellows
- Guide Fellows in the basics of phone banking, text banking, voting systems and procedures, donor research, etc.
- Serve as the main point of contact for Raskin Fellows and their families
- Update the schedule and ensure all technology is set up for Field days
- Serve as a role model to Fellows in all ways
- Help to build community amongst the Fellows by fostering a positive environment
- Additional tasks as assigned-- this position will primarily focus on Raskin for Congress Democracy Summer Fellows, but may occasionally be asked to assist with national tasks.
