Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is a nonprofit effort made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts with extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, polling, and analytics. Position Summary
The Hub Project seeks an experienced and innovative Senior Director for Navigator Research, a public opinion collective equipping top leaders in Washington and grassroots organizations across the country with up to date, data-driven insights that shape debates on the issues that matter most. The Senior Director will lead the design, execution, and distribution of all public opinion research projects of Navigator. This is a significant leadership role at The Hub Project and will be an integral part of the senior leadership team.
The Senior Director will lead a team of passionate and talented strategists with varying areas of expertise, including polling analysts, communications and digital strategists, and external consultants to design, manage and disseminate a robust pipeline of qualitative and qualitative research projects with the highest quality of methodologically-sound research and direct communications strategy. This role will frequently interface with other campaign teams at The Hub Project and work collaboratively to ensure they are equipped with data-driven messaging guidance in support of their campaigns.
This position requires overseeing an annual budget, managing external research vendors and consultants, publicly presenting research findings and messaging guidance, and being a high-profile representative in the progressive community.
As the Senior Director of Navigator Research, you will:
- Drive a strategy to leverage research to set and define narratives on key issues of the day.
- Manage a large team of employees and consultants to execute all components of the quantitative and qualitative research lifecycle on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Present and communicate results from polling, data, and analytics projects both internally to strategically inform and advance The Hub Project’s issue advocacy campaigns, and externally to partners, elected officials, press, and other stakeholders.
- Design and manage significant budgets and strategic plans that accomplish the priorities of Navigator Research and/or the priorities of The Hub Project and its other issue advocacy campaigns.
- Work closely with existing partners to build deeper partnerships, while developing new relationships to expand Navigator Research’s reach.
- Continually identify and explore opportunities to expand The Hub Project’s capacity to employ cutting-edge techniques and methodologies.
About You
- You are committed to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to all Americans, and are passionate about strengthening American democracy.
- You have at least 10 years of experience working in and managing a team in one of the following fields: issue advocacy, campaigns, survey research, government, or equivalent.
- You are a creative and expansive thinker, with a vision for how progressives can better communicate our values and who is willing to ask tough questions
- You have extensive experience translating complex data into clear findings and strategic recommendations, both in writing and in public presentation, and can communicate them effectively to a variety of different audiences.
- You have a track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse group of both internal and external stakeholders.
- You have significant experience managing large budgets.
- You are an experienced and talented manager of people that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
